Opening the door to a future in construction
A work experience placement can give a young person much more than an introduction to a job. It can help them build confidence, discover what interests them and see a possible future for themselves.
At Superior, we’ve been pleased to support that opportunity by welcoming a Year 11 student to our COAST project for a five-day work experience placement.
With an interest in pursuing a carpentry apprenticeship, she came to site ready to learn. The Superior team has been impressed by her attitude, enthusiasm and performance during her time with us.
Connecting school with opportunities on site
The placement follows her participation in the Multiplex Gold Coast Jump Start Program, accessed through the Gold Coast Titans NRL School to Work Program.
These programs help connect students with the people and experiences that can inform their next steps. Time on a construction site gives them a closer look at the industry, an opportunity to ask questions and a better understanding of what a trade career could involve.
For Superior, being part of that journey is an opportunity to share our knowledge and help a young person explore her ambitions.

Taking time to explain a task, answer a question or include someone in a conversation can make a lasting impression. Those everyday actions help create an environment where a young person feels comfortable learning and contributing.
The positive feedback shared with us has recognised both the team’s support and the student’s growing enthusiasm for a future in construction. It is a reminder of the difference people can make by giving someone a chance.

Construction needs people who are willing to learn, and experienced teams who are willing to teach. By opening our sites and sharing what we know, we can help students make informed decisions about their futures.
